李哲虎艺术，以油画为载体，承载中国文人画的精神旨趣探索中国油画的个性，是他多年来一直潜心研究的创作课题。“魂魄”系列作品正是这一重要成果，他融入了宗教、民俗、历史典故、东西方文化传统及对生命意识的思考，大胆借鉴西方抽象表现主义和当代行为艺术的表现观念，通过对综合材料的研究和运用，探寻油画的色彩表现力度，同时，又赋予作品中国文人画精神的意象性笔墨语言，他以这样一种生命状态大胆尝试、广博吸收，在主题和艺术语言方面取得了较大突破，形成了自己独具面貌的绘画风格，是中国当代油画的一种新气象。

Li Zhehu's art uses oil painting as a carrier to bring the spirits of Chinese paintings of literati to explore Chinese oil paintings' identity, and this is the creation topic that he is experimenting for so many years. The "Soul and Vigor" series of works is an important result of it, where he blended religion, folk tradition, history and classics, east and west cultures, and the thinking about life. Boldly using the concepts of western abstractionism and contemporary performance arts, searching the intensity of color expression of oil paintings via the research and the use of general materials. Meanwhile, he gives the pieces the imagery ink language of Chinese painting's spirit. He courageously tries and absorbs widely with a state of life, gaining big breakthroughs in themes and art language, and formed a unique style of painting, becoming a new generation of Chinese contemporary oil painting.

In his "Man and Nature" series of works, he uses poem-like techniques to blend many dance elements in real life with totems from history. He uses signials like traditional fan, drum, flute, and other modern elements as well as crane, to create the Chinese nation's bright and passionate, implicit, and concealed personality. Characters in the images are dynamic, the auras are vivid, and they show the inner activity of the painter. These three constructed a poem world with metaphor and symbolism...... His work's "dynamic beauty" is performed excitedly, has a vivid aura, and strong vitality.
